The Freedom House, the international Human Rights Agency, ranked Cape Verde in the first position in the freedom of rights index against the remainder of the African continent.
With 90 points on a scale of 100, Cape Verde is in the same position as France, leading its continent.
Mauritius were evaluated with 89 points (such as Italy or the United States), Ghana with 83 (at the same level as Panama), Benin with 82 (such as Argentina and South Korea), Sao Tome and Principe with 81, followed by Senegal, South Africa and Tunisia with 78 (one point below the Brazil), Namibia with 77 (the same level as India) and Botswana with 72 (next to Peru).
