The delegation of the Macau Forum, accompanied by the representative of Cape Verde in the Macau Forum, Nuno Furtado, started this Thursday to visit Cape Verde with a meeting at Cape Verde TradeInvest with the board of directors.
"The objective of this mission is to do an evaluation work of the 15 years of the Forum for Economic and Commercial Cooperation (Macau Forum) between China and the Portuguese-speaking Countries and Macau and to know the perspectives of countries on the future development of the Forum" , told journalists the head of the mission, Yao Zhi Zhong, questioned at the entrance of the meeting.
"We decided to go ahead with a study of what the 15 years of the Macau Forum and the future prospects were. We still have a long way to go and we need to draw up new cooperation strategies, "said, for his part, Nuno Furtado, representative of Cape Verde in the Macau forum.
The president of Cape Verde Trade Invest, Ana Lima Barber, considered that the mission will serve to understand how it is possible to improve the economic and commercial relationship with China.
"There are several areas within this China vector/Portuguese official language countries in which it is important to increase this relationship," he said, stressing the need for the forum to be more present and to be better known by entrepreneurs and institutions in the countries.
